As you may know, Noble Art Entertainment is a dinner theater company offering full service dinner theater productions October - December and March - May at The Historic Oak Room in Geneva-on-the-Lake. This year we are excited that our partners at The Oak Room have agreed to allow us to continue entertaining throughout the summer by turning their traditional bar into Murphy's Pub & Ale House.
This unique partnership allows us to offer a fully themed atmosphere in The Historic Oak Room where guests have come every summer for good times and refreshing drinks. The theme is good ol' fashioned Irish heritage and the characters are as lively as you might imagine.
That's right, Murphy's Irish Pub & Ale House has come right off the pages of a dinner theater show and into reality. Now you can visit the Irish themed pub all summer long and enjoy the banter of the liveliest serving crew on The Strip!
Like many happy accidents, Murphy's began as a dream... born out of the necessity for a fresh offering in the summer resort town of Geneva-on-the-Lake (GOTL). A place where you could kick back, try different food, taste rare beers, and enjoy the company of friends- old and new.
The owners of Noble Art Entertainment Dinner Theater, Brook Hall and Sarah Cantrell, have been in search of something they could offer through the summer months for years. Guests visiting the seasonal town of Geneva-on-the-Lake, where Noble Art's dinner theater performs at The Historic Oak Room, come looking for relaxed, fun, easy going entertainment. Something they can visit for a short while and then move on to see the other treasures found along "The Strip".
The road-side food stands, bars, arcades, wineries and mini-golf establishments in GOTL have been successfully accommodating traveler's desire for fast family entertainment for nearly 150 years. Knowing that the typical 3 hour dinner & a show performance would be too long for summer travelers wanting to take advantage of the weather and views, we knew it had to be just the right mix of fun interaction, unique food and a little flair of a new experience.
Noble Art first introduced the idea of Murphy's Irish Pub & Ale House in 2014 as a boisterous Irish bar in one of their dinner theater shows featuring live music, great Irish food, interesting staff and delicious craft beers. The entertaining atmosphere and friendly service offered at Murphy's were so popular with the crowds, it was a natural progression to fully develop this restaurant into a full-time, Irish themed pub and eatery.
Coupled with over 15 years of experience in the food service industry working at various restaurants and wineries, Brook and Sarah knew that developing Murphy's was just the summer venture they had been searching for.
Murphy's Irish Pub & Ale House is open during the dinner theater's off-season, Memorial Day through Labor Day. The location where the dynamic duo usually set their theater performances, The Historic Oak Room in Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio, is a fully functional bar that has been open for years and is the prime location for this sort of lively excitement.
Brook and Sarah hope that bringing authentic Irish offerings to the Geneva-on-the-Lake will feed traveler's desires for great food and unique craft beer with the added touch of friendly Irish servers and bar tenders. In preparation for the season, The Swiss Chalet, which is the bar connected to The Oak Room, has built a huge outdoor patio for all guests to enjoy. The outdoor dining area really allows guests to soak in the lake front setting while lounging in the open air.
