NOBLE ART & MURPHY'S PUB: |
As you may know, Noble Art Entertainment is a dinner theater company offering full service dinner theater productions in the 'off-season' at Geneva-on-the-Lake: October-December & March-May at the Historic Oak Room. As luck would have it, in 2016 our partners at the Oak Room invited us to continue entertaining throughout the summer by turning the traditional Oak Room bar into an Irish themed restaurant; Murphy's Pub & Ale House.
Complete with Irish food & entertainment, this unique partnership allows us to offer a fully themed atmosphere in the Historic Oak Room where guests have come every summer for good times and refreshing drinks. The idea is good ol' fashioned Irish heritage and the characters are as lively as you might imagine. That's right, now you can visit the Irish themed pub all summer long and enjoy the banter of the liveliest serving crew on The Strip! |
Murphy's HIstory: |
Like many happy accidents, Murphy's was born from the necessity for a fresh offering in the summer resort town of Geneva-on-the-Lake (GOTL). A place where you can kick back, try different foods, taste hand crafted brews, and enjoy the company of friends- old and new.
The road-side food stands, bars, arcades, wineries and mini-golf establishments in GOTL have been successfully accommodating traveler's desire for fast family entertainment for nearly 150 years. With the growth of travelers visiting The Strip in recent years, it was the perfect time to add something a little different to the offerings on Lake Erie's southern shore. ~ ~ ~ The owners of Noble Art Entertainment Dinner Theater, Brook Hall and Sarah Cantrell, had been in search of something they could offer through the summer months ever since beginning their venture in 2006 at the Oak Room. "Guests visiting the seasonal resort town of Geneva-on-the-Lake come looking for a relaxed, fun atmosphere and easy going entertainment. Something they can visit for a short while and then move on to see the other treasures found along The Strip." says owner and Director, Brook Hall. "We knew a full 3 hour dinner theater show in summer was a stretch because the weather is so nice and guests enjoy being outside. That's when we came up with the idea to offer a themed bar." said Hall. "It's the best of both worlds- providing the perfect mix of great service, fun interaction, unique food and a little flair with this new experience at the Oak Room in summer." Noble Art first introduced the idea of Murphy's Irish Pub & Ale House in 2014 as a boisterous Irish bar in one of their dinner theater shows featuring live music, great Irish food, interesting staff and delicious craft beers. The entertaining atmosphere and friendly service offered at Murphy's were so popular with the crowds, it was a natural progression to fully develop this restaurant into a full-time, Irish themed pub and eatery. Coupled with nearly 20 years of experience in the food service industry working at various restaurants and wineries, Brook and Sarah knew that developing Murphy's was just the summer venture they had been searching for. Murphy's Irish Pub & Ale House is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, when the dinner theater goes 'dark' for the summer. The location where the dynamic duo usually set their theater performances, the Historic Oak Room in Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio, is a fully functional bar that has been open for years and was the prime location for this sort of lively excitement. Brook and Sarah hope that bringing authentic Irish offerings to the Geneva-on-the-Lake will feed traveler's desires for great food and unique craft beer with the added touch of friendly Irish servers and bar tenders. In preparation for the season, The Swiss Chalet, which is the bar connected to The Oak Room, has built a huge shared outdoor patio for all guests to enjoy. The outdoor dining area really allows guests to soak in the lake front setting while lounging in the open air. |
